چکیده

Belief networks, also called Bayesian networks, are a form of artificial intelligence that incorporate uncertainty through probability theory and conditional dependence. Variables are graphically represented by nodes whereas conditional dependence relationships between the variables are represented by arrows. A belief network is developed by first defining the variables in the domain and the relationships between those variables. The conditional probabilities of the states of the variables are then determined for each combination of parent states. During evaluation of the network, evidence may be entered at any node without concern to whether the variable is an input or output variable. The probability of each state for the remaining variables, where the state is unknown, is evaluated. An automated approach for the improvement of construction operations involving the integration belief networks and computer simulation is described. In this application, the belief networks provide diagnostic functionality to the performance analysis of the construction operations. Computer simulation is used to model the construction operations and to validate the changes to the operation recommended by the belief network. 1 Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Toronto, Toronto, ON M5S 1A4 2 Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 2G7 3 Professor, Department of Computing Science, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 2H1

A Novel Multicast Tree Construction Algorithm for Multi-Radio Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks

Many appealing multicast services such as on-demand TV, teleconference, online games and etc. can benefit from high available bandwidth in multi-radio multi-channel wireless mesh networks. When multiple simultaneous transmissions use a similar channel to transmit data packets, network performance degrades to a large extant. Designing a good multicast tree to route data packets could enhance the...

An adaptive estimation method to predict thermal comfort indices man using car classification neural deep belief

Human thermal comfort and discomfort of many experimental and theoretical indices are calculated using the input data the indicator of climatic elements are such as wind speed, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, etc. The daily data of temperature، wind speed، relative humidity، and cloudiness between the years 1382-1392 were used. In the First step، Tmrt parameter was calculated in the Ray...

Similarity networks for the construction of multiple-faults belief networks

A similarity network is a tool for constructing belief networks for the diagnosis of a single fault. In this paper, we examine modifications to the similaritynetwork representation that facilitate the construction of belief networks for the diagnosis of multiple coexisting faults.

Network Engineering for Complex Belief Networks

Developing a large belief network, like any large system, requires systems engineering to manage the design and construction process. We propose that network engineering follow a rapid prototyping approach to network construction. We describe criteria for identifying network modules and the use of 'stubs' within a belief network. We propose an object oriented representation for belief networks ...
